Our Story

Crosslay Apparel Company wasn't built in an executive boardroom. It was built after long shifts, over cups of coffee, and through conversations between two local first responders who wanted to create something bigger than another T-shirt company.

After a combined 15 years in EMS and the fire service, we've experienced the sleepless nights, traumatic calls, burnout, and the quiet ways this career changes you. We've laughed through the chaos, leaned on each other when the job becomes heavy, and discovered that sometimes the best therapy comes from the people who truly understand what you've been through. That's why we created Crosslay.

Not to make another first responder clothing brand — but to build a community through stories.

At the heart of every design are Hosé and Knox. Hosé (pun intended) represents every first responder who's sacrificed pieces of themselves to serve others (which is why they are Skeletons). He's the firefighter, paramedic, police officer, dispatcher, nurse, or anyone who's carried the weight of the job while somehow finding the strength to answer the next call.

Knox represents something just as important.

He's the friend who always showed up. The partner who always had your back. The person who sat beside you after a difficult shift without expecting you to say a word. He's the reminder that none of us were ever meant to carry this job alone.

We like to say: Hosé is the story we all live. Knox is the person we all hope to have beside us.

Our apparel is designed to be more than something you wear. It's designed to start conversations. Imagine you're out with friends and notice someone across the room wearing Chapter One while you're wearing Chapter Two, or maybe one of our Core Collection shirts. You immediately recognize the design. You walk over, introduce yourself, ask what they thought about the story, and before long you're swapping firehouse stories, EMS memories, and sharing a few laughs.
